My black and white scratch board art us a  world of opposite forces such as day and night, fire and water, warm and cold, black and white, yin and yang. Each picture is a journey of discovery since there are no preparatory sketches. I start from one point on which I expand very much like the sand paintings of native american indians.

In the picture “Face” I started out by drawing a pupil of the eye on the left side counter imposing the B & W shapes and the 3-diminutional aspect of the human face. THe person appears as if he has an internal source of light and the eye glides a long the picture following along enjoying the contracts. when I completely lose attachment of being in control of the work it slowly comes to life on it’s own. all to lose it.
